The best ways to get traffic to a specific website may be different to the best ways to get traffic to other websites. Some websites need traffic to come quickly by buying paid traffic, while other websites want to optimize for getting SEO traffic (i.e free traffic) for steady growth in the long run. One of the quickest ways to immediately get traffic to your website is buying clicks through Google AdWords. To start: - You will have to set aside a small budget, and have your credit card ready. - Do your keyword research through Google's keyword tool (and/or other third-party keyword suggestion tools). - Set up your AdWords campaign. Make sure you start with only the keyword campaign (i.e. search only campaign). - Other settings may also make a difference, such as choosing geolocations, maximum CPC for your keywords, keyword match types, etc. But if you are low on budget or have decided to go for the "free" option, then you may want to rely on SEO or social media. If you have a blog on your website, or your website is actually a blog, then your website is suitable for getting traffic through SEO (i.e. Google organic search traffic). Make sure: - You have done keyword research for your niche and/or the topics that you are writing about. - You have optimized for website's on-site SEO (including URL structure, keywords, etc). - You have properly set up your website with Google Search Console, so you will always feedback from Google about potential issues about your website. Some websites have topics that are "attractive" to their niche's audiences. By appropriately using social media, their topics (and/or content) may spread across many accounts in social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. And don't forget you should work with your friends and/or partners who have blogs or websites, in a way that both parties can re-use traffic across different websites. I have written this guide which shows 200+ tactics on how to get free traffic (i.e. visitors) to your website. The tactics involve using SEO, Blogging, social media, video sites, forums, Q&A sites, social bookmarking, photo/file sharing, list building (email marketing), etc. PM me if you want me to send you this guide.
